The Reverend W. E. “Eddie” Jenkins is the pastor of Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He has been a pastor and preacher of the Gospel since 1976. He and Brenda, his wife of 47 years, are natives of Birmingham, Alabama. The Jenkins have two children, a daughter who lives in Louisville, Kentucky, and a son who lives in Fort Worth, Texas. In addition, they were blessed by their son and his wife, Sara, in January, 2015, with the birth of their first grandchild, a little boy named Cameron. The Jenkins have been at Hope Church since June, 2006.

The Reverend Jenkins is a graduate of Bethel College in McKenzie, Tennessee, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English & Psychology and Secondary School Teacher’s Certification in Bible and English. He did graduate work at Memphis Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee, graduating in 1984 with a Master of Divinity degree and was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in March of that year.

In addition to Valrico, Florida, he has served as pastor of Cumberland Presbyterian churches in his hometown of Birmingham; Henderson, Tennessee; Paducah, Kentucky; Stevenson, Alabama; Florence, Alabama; and Fort Worth, Texas. He taught 9th and 12th Grade English for 5 years at Chester County High School in Henderson, Tennessee.
